If you have ever had problems with pocket meters due to their small and inexpensive electrodes or limited capabilities, pHeltm is what you have always been looking for.

pHeltm is supplied with a state-of the-art double junction full-size electrode. Double junction electrodes provide better and more stable results than standard electrodes, specially in unclean or varied samples. This means your pHeltm's electrode is as good as a professional electrode, found only in top-of-the-line meters.

Unlike conventional testers, pHeltm has a long and slim stem, making measurements in small samples or vials possible. pHeltm1 is also gel-filled so that you do not have to worry about refilling the unit. A large Liquid Crystal Display allows reading of the pH value with a 0.1 pH resolution.

There are two models to choose from:

pHeltm is literally a combination double junction pH electrode with a plastic, rugged body, resistant to temperatures up to 70°C and pressures of up to 1.5 BAR.

pHeltm1 offers all the advantages of a glass body electrode with temperature resistance of up to 80°C and 3 BAR of pressure.

Add to the above a 3,000 hour battery life and you have a powerful hassle-free tool to help you with your daily pH tests. All this has been possible due to Hanna Instruments' advanced technology, ISO 9001 facilities and continuous effort and commitment in finding the most appropriate solution for your requirements.

The pH Tester Family The pHep®, introduced in 1986, is the smallest pH meter in the world. Measuring only 5.9" (15 cm) in height and weighing only 3 oz. (85 grams), it's the ideal tool for quick, on-the-spot testing of pH. The meter is basically an extension of the electrode with a large LCD that displays the measurement. The electrode is well protected in a sturdy reinforced casing. The meter comes with a protective cap that can also be used as the measurement vessel. Accurate, simple, sturdy, high-tech and inexpensive, these meters are today's answer to the inferior pH litmus paper of yesterday.

When Hanna Instruments introduced it's first version of the pHep (pH electronic paper) in 1986, it immediately revolutionized the standards in pH measurement. The pHep's ease-of-use in combination with its affordability made it possible for non-technical and technical personnel alike to accurately measure pH on the spot. Since then, over 1 million pHeps have gone to satisfied customers around the world. We have always valued your comments and suggestions and in this new series, we have included all the features you have asked for and more!

The waterproof pHep® 4 and pHep® 5 pH testers have a dual-level LCD that displays pH and °C or °F. At startup, pHep® performs a self check then displays the remaining battery level to assure proper working condition. These testers also feature a stability indicator and hold feature to prompt the user when to take the reading & freeze the display for easy and accurate recording. These new pH/Temperature meters have a stainless steel temperature probe for faster and more precise temperature measurement and auto-compensation. 1 or 2 point calibration is made simple with automatic recognition of both standard and NIST buffer sets. We have designed the new pHep® pH electrodes with an extendable reference junction and when the electrode finally is exhausted simply insert a new electrode cartridge!

The new waterproof housings of the pHep® waterproof testers provide complete protection in outdoor applications, harsh industrial environments as well as accidental spills. This tester is ideal for swimming pools, fish farming, electroplating industry, printing, agriculture, waste water processing and many other applications where humidity and condensation would render litmus paper useless or ruin the circuitry of ordinary meters.

pHep®1 - Standard waterproof model with manual two point calibration and accuracy of ±0.2 pH

pHep®2 - Manual 2 point calibration & Automatic Temperature Compensation, accuracy ±0.1 pH

pHep®3 - The revolutionary micropHep®3. This "top of the range" pHep® brings even more benefits to the user. The auto switch-off feature prolongs the life of the batteries, delivering up to 700 hours of use. The display indicates when a stable pH value has been reached, ensuring that only accurate readings are taken. Calibration is automatic and can be performed easily, even by non-technical operators. Simply press the 'ON' button for 3 seconds, and the display prompts the user to submerge the tester into pH 7 buffer. After 20 seconds the display prompts immersion in the second buffer (4 or 10 pH). When that is completed, the meter is automatically calibrated and returns to operating mode.

pHep®3 also features:

  • Microprocessor based with error and self-diagnostic messages.
  • Last digit on display will flash until reading is stable.
  • Automatic calibration - just press 'ON' button, dip in pH buffer and unit is calibrated.
  • Auto shut-off after 10 minutes.

PICCOLO The creation of PICCOLO by Hanna, is a response to today's industry. Piccolo is a revolutionary all-in-one pH meter with an "Electrode + Amplifier" design. The problem with conventional pH meters is the high impedance signal which makes the electrode, connector, cable and meter delicate and susceptible to noise, humidity and dirty environments. PICCOLO overcomes these problems with an interchangeable preamplified pH electrode that transmits a low impedance signal to the meter. Dual point calibration is performed simply through trimmers on the meter's casing. PICCOLO comes complete with an all-in-one electrode, a carrying case containing pH 4 and 7 buffer solution and a small calibration screwdriver.

Application Specific
Simulators and Calibrators

Over the past two decades, the measurement and use of pH has grown dramatically. This parameter has come out of the laboratory and is now being monitored in areas such as the environment, food, agriculture, horticulture, waste water, pharmaceutical, cosmetic industry, fish farming, metal finishing, education and anywhere quality is important. This enlargement of the use of pH has meant that every application with its own operating environment and tolerances requires specially designed products suitable to its needs. In addition, each market brings with it people with different backgrounds and technical training. Due to these market realities, Hanna has developed a complete range of meters, each catering to the specific needs of particular market segments. As a result, Hanna pH meters represent the most comprehensive range of portable and bench-top instrumentation on the market and provide the users with the most expansive choice possible.
