HI 8043 Dissolved Oxygen Meter for the Education Field

  • ATC Circuitry The meter's ATC feature assures the user of getting accurate temperature-compensated readings.
  • Low Battery Indicator A built-in low battery indicator prevents a low battery from causing erroneous readings.
  • Probe Made for Use with BOD5 bottles The conic shape of the D.O. probe makes it perfect for all BOD5 applications.
  • Accurate Thermometer HI 8043 is also an accurate thermometer with an accuracy of ±0.5°C.

HI 8043 is a versatile D.O. meter developed for use in the school laboratory. A common 9 volt battery supplies the unit with up to 100 hours of continuous power making it possible to be transported anywhere. There is also a low battery warning that eliminates the possibility of taking an erroneous reading due to low power. The simplicity of this meter is its greatest asset. Simply select the °C, O2, or STB mode and the polarographic probe, with a built-in temperature sensor, will supply you with accurate measurements. The STB mode is particularly useful to keep the current flowing through the probe which is continuously polarized and ready for use. The probe has a conic shape making it perfect for use in BOD5 applications. HI 8043 is supplied complete with a soft carrying case and a rugged D.O. Probe (HI 76401) with a built-in temperature sensor and spare membranes (HI 76407/P).

The ever increasing demand for instant results for on-site analyses has created a constant need for waterproof portable meters. The cold, rain, snow and dust associated with use in the field, may damage a meter, rapidly deteriorating its performance and life. HI 9142 is a rugged, water resistant meter that solves the common problems of field use. It is very simple to use: calibration is performed with HI 7040 zero oxygen solution while 100% calibration is done in air. There is no need to use chemical solutions or go through time consuming calibration processes. The polarographic probe (HI 76407/4) will take measurements accurate to 0.2 ppm O2/liter in less than 1 minute and is equipped with a 13' (4m) cable that allows measurements to be taken in even hard to reach places. For applications that require a longer probe cable, the HI 76407/10 probe with a 32.8 foot (10 meter) cable is available. The conic shape of the probe allows it to be used in all BOD5 measurements making it a truly versatile instrument. HI 9143 & HI 9145 Waterproof, Microprocessor Dissolved Oxygen Meters

  • Battery or VDC power When used for extended periods of time, there is no need to interrupt important tests, simply plug into a 12 VDC battery charger.
  • Automatic Calibration Simply expose the probe to saturated air and press the CAL button. No need for messy solutions or tedious calibration processes.
  • Multiple Range You can read in % of saturation or directly in mg/L of dissolved oxygen. The meter can also be used as an accurate thermometer.

Cold, rain, snow, dust and humidity associated with use in the field can cause condensation which may damage a meter, rapidly deteriorating its performance and life. HI 9143 and HI 9145 are designed for outdoor applications, especially waste water treatment and fish farming. Simple on-site calibration requires no chemical solutions. Just expose the probe to air and press the CAL button. In a few minutes the meter is calibrated and ready to use. Auto-calibration eliminates the need to use a screwdriver or other devices to adjust the reading. The basic version, HI 9145, provides readings of O2 (% or mg/l) and temperature. In addition to the features of HI 9145, HI 9143 also supplies the user with compensation of salinity and altitude factors. Both meters compensate for temperature effect. HI 9143 & HI 9145 come supplied with a rugged carrying case, HI 76407/4 D.O. probe, and a spare membrane kit HI 76407/P.
